Networked Digital Technologies are reshaping the way we communicate, interact, collaborate, and share knowledge. Recent progress in Telecommunications, Networking, Semantic Web, Mobile and Ubiquitous Computing has enabled new collaborative technology services for various disciplines in sciences, humanities and social sciences. Many institutions across the world are working to evolve better models for creating shared cyberspace through expert collaboration, but this is a challenge for the institutions for a number of reasons. In the last few years, the landscape of digital technology applications projects for the various disciplines appears induced by many initiatives. For the creation of research clusters, the research community has thousands of databases, websites, local computing clusters, and web-based tools around individual themes, interests and projects. In most cases, these tools and resources are and were created to meet the specific needs of a particular community. In many cases, the funding and support for these critical initiatives is fragile and temporary, and directed in piecemeal fashion. There is a need to provide concerted efforts in building federated digital technologies that will enable the formation of network of digital technologies.
The Fourth International Conference on Networked Digital Technologies (NDT’2012) is a forum for scientists, engineers, and practitioners to present their latest research results, ideas, developments and applications in the areas of Networked Digital technologies. NDT’2012 will include presentations of contributed papers, poster sessions, workshops, and state-of-the-art lectures by invited keynote speakers.

All the papers will be reviewed and the accepted papers in the conference will be published in the “Communications in Computer and Information Science” (CCIS 7899) of Springer Lecture Notes Series (www.springer.com/series/), and will be indexed in many global databases including ISI Proceedings and Scopus.
In addition, selected papers after complete modification and revision will be published in the following special issues of journals.

Students Poster Session
Students are invited to submit an extended abstract of no more than 3 pages to be considered for a Poster session. Authors of accepted abstracts will be invited to prepare a poster. Selected papers after modification, extension and review will be published in the DLINE journals (www.dline.info). The abstract will be included in the conference proceedings but will not be published by Springer in LNCS.
